Woodsy Wedding Cake

Yay for getting to use the airbrush!
This cake is a chocolate and white marbled cake (bottom) and a red velvet layer cake, covered in buttercream, and then in marshmallow fondant.  The mushrooms are gumpaste/fondant and the swirls are modeling chocolate!

Wedding Cake

Lovely wedding cake for a backyard wedding in Anchorage this past weekend.  It was yellow/chocolate marble cake with buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant.  Real flowers made me just a little nervous, but they bunched together rather nicely and made for a beautiful cake topper!  Congratulations to the new bride and groom!

On the Road Wedding Cake

BeNi Cakes is delighted to share a couple pictures of our "on the road" wedding cake and groom's cake that we made and decorated in Iowa two weeks ago!  A dear friend of ours who has been like our little sister grew up, realized she was in love with her best friend, and their love of books was the theme of their amazing wedding reception.  We were honored to be asked to make their cake and surprise the groom with a cake composed of three of his favorite books.

The wedding cake was three different flavors, two each of cherry chip, lemon and white with raspberry filling.  A non-melting buttercream icing recipe saved the day!  I think I'm in love with dream whip (a little secret ingredient).

The groom's cake was chocolate cake with marshmallow fondant.

There are lots of people to thank for helping us make this away from our homes and we appreciate everyone who helped out!  Congratulations Erin and Robby!!!

Pink Wedding!

This was a fun one! It was made for a couple having their wedding reception at O'Malley on the Green in Anchorage. This four tier cake had four different flavors, chocolate with chocolate filling, white cake with raspberry filling, lemon with buttercream, and red velvet with buttercream.

After setting the cake up, I also found out I was to be the "florist" and found leftover roses and such to tuck in around the bottom. The flower topper was delivered in sad shape, so after some fluffing and rearranging it took on a better look, and here is the end result.

And one with me! My first large cake delivery and it didn't fall apart! (not that I was expecting it to...)
