Baby Einstein Fondant Tiger

Baby Eric turned one in Ecuador while I was there, and since we still had lots of Baby Einstein decorations, he got a Tiger Cake!

Baby Einstein

Ahh, yes. Baby Einstein. My daughter is in love with the bee. Her first birthday party was easy to plan, but the cake was a little tricky. Once I started making those little creatures out of fondant, I couldn't stop. I seriously considered covering the whole cake, but stopped and just did the front. It was a strawberry cake with buttercream frosting and fondant animals.

Here's the Birthday Girl!

No after pics because she actually didn't get very messy. That's my girl.

Poured Fondant

So this was my second try with poured fondant. It seemed to work a lot better on sugar cookies than it did on a cake. These are "popsicle" cookies, clouds and airplanes, wrapped all pretty and taken to a FedEx luncheon.

Pink Wedding!

This was a fun one! It was made for a couple having their wedding reception at O'Malley on the Green in Anchorage. This four tier cake had four different flavors, chocolate with chocolate filling, white cake with raspberry filling, lemon with buttercream, and red velvet with buttercream.

After setting the cake up, I also found out I was to be the "florist" and found leftover roses and such to tuck in around the bottom. The flower topper was delivered in sad shape, so after some fluffing and rearranging it took on a better look, and here is the end result.

And one with me! My first large cake delivery and it didn't fall apart! (not that I was expecting it to...)
